Alconbury Weald in Cambridgeshire
Built on a former RAF base in Cambridgeshire, Alconbury Weald is a fast-growing, large, new residential development of stylish homes set in a beautifully landscaped, 700 acres of green space. The original plans for Alconbury Weald include 6,500–7,000 homes to be built on the site. Already, over a thousand homes have been completed and welcomed their owner-occupiers, and the first phase of the development, which is building circa 1,700 homes, is nearly complete. Detailed plans for the further two stages have since been set out.
As well as modern, energy-efficient new homes, Alconbury Weald offers accessible walking and cycleways through woodland and green spaces across the site. All homes have been designed to be within 400 metres of bus stops and green spaces, and within 800 metres of shops and facilities. In terms of facilities, the development has a multi-use games area, cricket pitch and pavilion, gym, and a handful of parks, including Garland Park with its historical references and activities for all ages. Currently, six different housebuilders are building new homes at Alconbury Weald. One of those is Barratt Homes, who are offering a 4-bedroom semi-detached house with an EV charging point and solar PV panels.
The property takes a corner plot with a west-facing garden and benefits from a modern, open-plan layout. Plus, to the front of the home is a social seating area with a box bay window. The fourth bedroom on the first floor features a Juliet balcony, and to the top floor, the two double bedrooms share access to an en suite shower room.
