Discover the New Home Buyers’ Pack

New Homes Week 2026 and the New Home Buyers’ Pack

To coincide with the start of New Homes Week, running from 2nd February to 8th February 2026, the Consumer Code for Home Builders has launched a brand-new New Home Buyers’ Pack.

Here’s what you need to know.

The New Home Buyers’ Pack

Buying a new-build home comes with a lot of information to consider. To help homebuyers navigate the process with confidence, the Consumer Code for Home Builders (the Code) has introduced a comprehensive new guide.

Drawing on more than fifteen years of experience, the guide has been designed to inform and support buyers at every stage, helping them prepare for and manage the process of buying a new-build home more effectively.

The aim is simple: to ensure buyers feel informed and confident throughout their journey. When buyers and builders understand the process and their responsibilities more clearly, the likelihood of complaints or disputes can be significantly reduced.

What’s Inside the New Home Buyers’ Pack

The New Home Buyers’ Pack is a practical, easy-to-use resource that covers everything you need to know about purchasing a new-build home. It’s an invaluable reference guide, offering advice and guidance to help keep you on track throughout the buying process.

Inside the guide, you’ll find details of the main sources of support available to you, alongside a clear, step-by-step journey through the new-build buying process – from choosing your new home right through to reserving it.

Each section includes clear explanations of consumer rights, the key questions buyers should be asking, and important points to look out for. You’ll also find useful tips and links to further sources of support. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

About the Consumer Code for Home Builders

This valuable guide has been produced by the team at the Consumer Code for Home Builders. The Code was created to make the new-build home buying process fairer and more transparent for consumers.

By setting mandatory requirements for home builders, the Code also plays an important role in improving build quality and raising customer satisfaction standards across the industry.

The Code provides additional protection for homebuyers from the moment a new-build home is reserved through to two years after legal completion. If issues do arise, buyers can access free, independent redress through the Code.

About New Homes Week

New Homes Week is an annual, week-long awareness campaign organised by the Home Builders’ Federation. It celebrates and highlights the benefits of new-build homes and takes place each February, when many buyers begin planning their next move.

This year’s theme, ‘Power to Move’, focuses on the advantages of buying a new-build home, including improved energy efficiency, lower running costs, and the reassurance of home warranty cover.

Alongside offering advice and guidance to consumers, New Homes Week also provides a platform for housebuilders and businesses involved in the home building industry.

Other Useful Guides from the Consumer Code

The New Home Buyers’ Pack is just one of several guides produced by the Consumer Code for Home Builders. To ensure you’re fully supported throughout the new-build buying process, it’s well worth exploring their other resources.
