Who are this year’s Housebuilder Awards Finalists?

This month, the finalists for the 2023 Housebuilder Awards were announced. The big night, where we find out who the winners are, is set for later on in the year, in November. And as well as the large, well-known names in housebuilding, smaller housebuilders feature in the running for an award. We take a look at some of the housebuilders who are up for a nomination and the categories they have been nominated for. We’ll also take a closer look at some of their developments which we have listed here on New Homes Place.

1. Cartwright Homes
Building new homes predominantly in the East Midlands area of the country, Cartwright Homes is a third-generation family business who place great focus on quality and personalisation. And it is their active encouragement of personalisation which has seen them shortlisted for the 2023 Best Customer Satisfaction Initiative category in this year’s Housebuilder Awards.

Cartwright Homes are open and flexible to helping new homebuyers create their own masterpiece. If you buy off-plan from Cartwright, they can create the interior of your property to the exact standards you want. And there may be opportunities to tweak things at the build stage, be that changing the floor surface or moving sockets, even doors. The fact Cartwright are willing to try and accommodate such changes makes them quite unique as housebuilders.

2. Shanly Homes
Building new homes with a focus on the South East of the country, Shanly Homes is no stranger to awards – both being shortlisted and winning them! The housebuilder has been shortlisted in this year’s Housebuilder Awards in the Best Regeneration Initiative category for their Waterside Quarter in Maidenhead regeneration project. This very same development also sees Shanly Homes shortlisted for ‘Residential Development of the Year’ at the forthcoming Insider Property Awards South East. In fact, Shanly’s Waterside Quarter which is the third and final phase of the overall Chapel Arches development in Maidenhead has won a number of awards since the regeneration project began back in 2015. Most recently, the Waterside Quarter won the Residential Development of the Year award at the Thames Valley Property Awards 2022.

Best known for the work they do conserving, restoring, and converting historic and listed buildings in sympathetic and complementary designs, City & Country are at the forefront of specialist property development. This year, they have been shortlisted for the Best Refurbishment Project category not once, but twice in the Housebuilder Awards 2023. The two developments which have been shortlisted include the King Edward VII Estate in Midhurst, West Sussex and the 1840 St George’s Gardens conversion apartments in South West London.

The company celebrated 60 years in business last year and were able to celebrate in style winning a hat-trick of accolades in the 2022 Evening Standard New Home Awards. Could they capitalise on multiple wins this year?
We have both the shortlisted developments listed here on New Homes Place – here’s what they look like.
