Housebuilder Lioncourt Homes invited pupils from Windsor Park Middle School to bury a time capsule in an area of open space at their Barley Fields development in Uttoxeter.

The school children aged seven to eleven were challenged to collect a range of items that will give future generations a sense of what life was like in 2018. Photographs and drawings of the pupils along with write ups about school life, a stamp and a picture of the queen were among the many memorable items included in the time capsule.

Danny Tunstall, Area Build Manager at Lioncourt Homes commented: “We are always keen to build strong relationships with our stakeholders and the communities in which we work so it was a pleasure to welcome Windsor Park Middle School to our development. The time capsule has been an excellent way for the pupils to think about items that represent their current lifestyles and leave a lasting legacy for future generations”.

Catherine Sharples, Head of English at Windsor Park Middle School said: “The time capsule was an exciting project to be part of and engaged our students when thinking about wider communities. The future longevity of this project inspired the students’ learning journey and it was a pleasure to work with Lioncourt Homes in facilitating such a fantastic opportunity. All students had a brilliant afternoon with one describing it as ‘epic’ “

Barley Fields, located on Bramshall Road, will comprise of 140 new homes including two, three, four and five-bedroom properties in a range of styles. The scheme will be built on 19 acres of land in two phases and is expected to complete in 2019.
