Bristol property gains

Why Bristol?
The South West of England, mainly Bristol has seen strong economic growth of late. The region has flourishing science and tech sectors which are projected to achieve 12% growth over the next five years. There’s also a strong office-based employment sector, and many professional services and finance companies choose Bristol for their base. Many of Bristol University’s large student population are choosing to remain in the city after graduation, which keeps the future looking very bright. It’s largely the city centre itself which is seeing the greatest demand for property thanks to its success winning accolades for its vibrancy and desirability. This has led to a surge in property investment within the city and outside of it too, with some exciting developments in the pipeline.

Outside of the city centre
Figures from the property website Zoopla show the best performing postcode in the Bristol region is BS5, which consists of the areas Easton, Lawrence Hill and St George. In the last 12 months, these areas have seen house prices increase on average by 2.72%. A very popular area for young families looking to get on the housing ladder and buy their first home is St. George with several good schools nearby. Other postcode locations that have seen house prices increase include BS15 (Woodstock, Hanham and Kings Chase) and BS10 (Southmean, Henbury and Brentry), as well as the affluent area of Clifton.
