Spotlight on… Lincolnshire

Yes, to kickstart our new ‘Spotlight on…’ series, we take a look at Lincolnshire. It’s an area of the country where house sales have been at record levels since the lockdown. From the most popular areas, to the new developments being built in the region, we find out more about Lincolnshire.

Why is Lincolnshire so popular?
Quite simply, Lincolnshire offers lots of space. As we mentioned in a previous article, looking at the change in buying habits since Covid-19; people are swapping congested cities for spacious surroundings. And what is great about Lincolnshire is that larger homes in the county are often cheaper compared to other areas. Buying a property in Lincolnshire offers excellent value for money. And when you combine that with all else Lincolnshire has to offer: plentiful open spaces, fantastic schools, a great coastline, and rich heritage, it’s no wonder people are choosing to buy property there.

Record house sales recorded
The last time Lincolnshire saw such a boom in property sales was back at the start of the millennium. Local estate agents have seen record sales in June and July of this year, with enough enquiries to last them a couple of months. It’s all very positive for a region whose County Council authority and partners have been working hard over the last couple of years to sell it. With the market building steadily in that time, and investment growing, it seems it’s now Lincolnshire’s time to shine.

What does Lincolnshire have to offer
Life in Lincolnshire is reminiscent of countryside dwelling, with the added benefit of sandy seaside towns nearby. The city of Lincoln itself offers a great chance to soak up culture, history, and learning. There is the cathedral, and a castle, plus it’s the go-to place for shopping or enjoying a night out. For those who love fresh air and exercise, you’ll be spoilt by the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, as much as the opportunities for fresh, sea air along the Lincolnshire Coastal Path.
