It began as a Danish settlement, first mentioned in the Domesday book in 1086. Referred to as just Corby before the 1950s, the village is surrounded by wooded countryside and fields. The River West Glen (which gave the village its modern name) runs through the centre of Corby Glen, where many of the stone built houses on narrow streets retain their original charm.

The village has grown in recent years, with the community welcoming new residents who benefit from a wide range of facilities and amenities, including a post office, village shops, a doctor’s surgery and fire station.
