A new first-time buyer equity loan scheme is on its way, the government has recently
confirmed. The Your First Home Scheme was announced by Prime Minister Andy Burnham on
26 th September. Although the full rules and details about it won’t be available until the Autumn
Budget on 28 th October 2026, we take a look at what we do know about the proposed scheme,
alongside the property industry’s thoughts and opinions on it.
