Retirement Apartments in East Grinstead
East Grinstead is an ancient market town within West Sussex and the capital of the historic High Weald, benefitting from being surrounded by some of the most spectacular countryside of the South East. McIndoe Lodge is a new retirement development of 49 one and two bedroom apartments situated close to local independent shops, amenities and transport links.
All apartments at Churchill Retirement Living are completely self-contained with their own front door, providing you with privacy and peace and quiet when you want it.
There is a choice of one and two bedroom apartments and they may all vary slightly when it comes to dimensions and position of rooms.
Kitchens are tiled with colour-coordinated worktops, and come fully fitted with a waist-height oven, hob, hood and fridge/freezer. Most of our developments also have integral washer/dryers fitted in all apartments as standard.
Our standards
The master bedrooms have fitted mirror-front wardrobes as well as TV and telephone points, with even the smallest details considered.
The apartments come with tiled shower rooms as standard, while some of them have separate en-suites and cloakrooms as well – all designed for ease of use and with the needs of our customers in mind.
All apartments are stringently inspected by our Customer Services department to ensure they are handed over to the standard of finish and quality expected by our customers.
All of our Lodges benefit from a comprehensive 10-year Building Warranty Guarantee.
Our developments have been carefully designed to make life easier, leaving you free to enjoy your retirement. We always make sure our developments are well located for local shops and transport links.
We use the very latest construction materials, fixtures and fittings, for maximum energy efficiency and low utility bills. A lift is provided to all floors, so using the stairs whilst carrying heavy shopping isn’t a chore.
A great deal of importance is placed on the communal areas, providing a welcome area for you, your family and friends. All of our developments also have the added benefit of a Guest Suite to accommodate visiting family and friends.

An ancient market town
A walk along the renowned High Street will take you back through 800 years of Sussex heritage; it boasts many significant half timbered buildings and open hall houses in the UK.
This development is in close proximity to the train station, Aldi, Sainsbury’s and a bus stop, making it easy to get around, with all the amenities nearby. There’s also a post box directly opposite the lodge.
On the southern outskirts of the town lies Standen, the National Trust’s flagship Arts and Crafts country house. Walkers and cyclists have a wide choice of walks and trails that leave the town for the surrounding countryside.
The beautiful Forest and Worth Ways both start in the town and form part of the Sustrans National Cycle Trail. The long distance High Weald Landscape Trail also passes through the town from Horsham en route to the sea at Rye.
Some buildings date from the 15th and 16th centuries, and there are splendid examples from Georgian and Regency times too.
